Project Car1969 Dodge Charger Nuremberg Daytona; Part 16 Painting

This is Part 16 of the story on our 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona Project Nuremberg Car. In future Parts we will update you on the Project Car itself and the restoration process. (Start with Part 1)

After months of tear down, repairs and a lot of sanding the Project Nuremberg Daytona is finally starting to get its color back. Not since the early 1970s has this car worn its original T7 Dark Bronze color. Although no good records of the number of Daytona winged cars built by paint color seems to exist we have done extensive research on this rare color. From Winged Warriors Club and Daytona Superbird Club records it appears that only two Charger Daytona cars were ever painted T7. Of the two, only one Daytona had the white RT style stripe and saddle interior. That makes this a true one of one Daytona. If anyone has better information or another Daytona painted in T7 Dark Bronze please contact us so we can update our information. Contact:

Here are some photos of the smaller pieces with color on them.

These photos will give you a good representation of what the T7 color looks like. The excitement is just beginning to build as we are finally on the downhill side of the restoration; we are entering the fun part.

I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I have been into cars since I was old enough to remember. I don't have a brand loyalty although I do prefer American Muscle especially the 1969/1970 NASCAR Aero Cars. (Check our our page) As long as it has four wheels on it I get excited. Few men are lucky enough to be able to share their passion for cars with the woman they love. Fortunately, my wife Katriana is also a gear head and many of our activities revolve around the cars. We have a small collection that includes at least one car from each of the Big Three. Katrina prefers all original cars while I like to modify them so we have a few of each. When we aren't playing with cars we are out with our miniature donkeys. You can see more about that part of our lives at
